Cameroon coach, Clarence Seedorf has made a prediction on the country he believes will win the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Egypt, backing up his prediction with reasons.

The former Dutch international tipped the Super Eagles of Nigeria to win the trophy.

One of Seedorf’s reasons was that Nigeria have good players that can win this year’s AFCON.

Seedorf stated this following his side’s 3-2 defeat to Gernot Rohr’s men at the round of 16 encounter on Saturday.

Two goals from Odion Ighalo and a strike from Arsenal star, Alex Iwobi, ensured the Super Eagles defeated the Indomitable Lions.

Asked to predict the country that could win this year’s AFCON, Seedorf was quoted by Completesports as telling reporters at post-match:

“Nigeria. They have a good team and they can win the competition. They have the players that can win it for them.”

The Super Eagles eliminated Cameroon in the first knockout round the last time they were reigning champions in 2004, and their bid to repeat history looked on when Ighalo nudged Nigeria ahead with a scrappy opening goal after 19 minutes.

Nigeria will tackle South Africa in the quarter-final on July 10.
