The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed November 2, 2019, to conduct governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa States.

INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman, Voter Education and Information, Mr Festus Okoye, announced this in a statement on Tuesday.

The announcement followed a meeting of the electoral body at its headquarters in Abuja where it approved the Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the elections.

Mr Okoye explained that the official notice for both elections would be issued on August 1 while various political parties who intended to field candidates would conduct their primaries from August 2-29.
