The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has called for the suspension of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Abubakar said if the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Walter Onnoghen, can be suspended over what he termed “mere allegation”, then same should be done to Buhari.

Speaking through his spokesperson, Paul Ibe, the former Vice President said Buhari should be suspended on the basis of a pending suit bordering on his certificate issues.

In a tweet, Ibe wrote: “If #Onnoghen is suspended on account of a mere allegation, then @MBuhari should also be suspended on account of a pending suit in suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1310/2018 Btw Kalu Kalu & 2 Ors Vs Gen. Buhari (Rtd), APC & INEC wherein Buhari’s educational certificates are in issue.”

Buhari had last week suspended Onnoghen and appointed Tanko Mohammed as the acting CJN.

Explaining his reason, the President said he suspended Onnoghen, following an order from the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, asking him to wield the big stick.

In his speech sent to DAILY POST, Buhari said the order demanded that the CJN be suspended pending the determination of his ongoing trial at the tribunal.
