Twitter Reacts To Shehu Shagari’s Death

Nigerians on twitter have reacted to Former President Shehu Shagari’s death.

Moments after the grandson of the former president Bello Shagari announced his deathon the platform, there have been close to 6,000 tweets posted on the platform by Nigerians offering their condolences.

Also mourning the loss, the President of the Senate Dr. Bukola Saraki makes a note about his passing

Shehu Shagari is the only president to rule in the Second Nigerian Republic. The senator mentions this in a tweet.

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State also joins in the tributes to the former president who was removed from government after a military coup directed by General Muhammadu Buhari.

One of his grandsons identified as Aliyu wishes for prayer of behalf of the deceased after learning about his death.

He was democratically elected twice. He was overthrown by a dictator, @MBuhari 35yrs ago, 31st December 1983.
His 2nd term was truncated by an Enemy of democracy and a Tyrant precisely 93days after oath of office.
He died at 93years old.
