Simon, who scored  21 goals and provided 18 assists in 136 appearances for  Gent,  joined the Belgian outfit in 2015  from  Slovak top-flight club  AS Trencin  where he  scored 13 goals in 33 games.

Bordeaux revealed on their official Twitter handle Kalu had signed a five-year deal with them.

The 20-year-old scored seven goals in 32 games in the Jupiler League last  season.

Kalu  could face his former teammates in the Europa League playoff round later this month, as Bordeaux and Gent will meet each other in the next round if they see off their Third Qualifying Round opponents.
