WEATHER: NiMet predicts cloudy skies, rains, thunderstorms on Tuesday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy conditions on Thursday with prospects of rain over Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Minna and Bida during the morning hours.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Monday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 25 to 34 and 16 to 24 degrees celsius.

It added that rains were expected to prevail over the entire region during the afternoon and evening hours.

The agency predicted southern states would experience cloudy skies in the morning with day and night temperatures in the range of 29 to 30 and 21 to 23 degrees celsius.

It also predicted prospects of rains over Enugu, Abakaliki, Umuahia, Awka, Ibadan, Iseyin, Shaki, Ado Ekiti, and Oshogbo, Akure, Lagos and their environs in the afternoon and evening hours with intermittent rains over the coastal cities throughout the forecast period.

According to NiMet, northern states will experience cloudy morning over most parts of this region with thunderstorms over Nguru, Katsina, Kano, Dutse, Zaria and Potiskum.

However, it stated that thunderstorms were anticipated over north-western axis with cloudy condition over north eastern part during the afternoon and evening hours.

“Northern cities will also experience day and might temperature values in the ranges of 30 to 35 and 22 to 24 degrees celsius.

“Cloudy condition with possibilities of moderate rains and thunderstorms in is probable over some parts of country within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicts.
