LAGOS: GENERAL Manager, Policy, Government and Public Affairs, Chevron Nigeria Limited, Mr Esimaje Brikinn, has restated the commitment of the NNPC/Chevron Nigeria Limited Joint Venture towards improving the quality of education in Nigeria.

Speaking during the award/prize giving ceremony for winners of the Chris Ikomi Memorial Annual Essay Competition for Secondary Schools in Delta State organised by the NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture in partnership with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Brikinn, who was represented by Mr Tony Emegere, said: “The commitment of the NNPC/CNL Joint Venture is still firm as it has always been.”
Stressing the importance of education to the development of the country, he said that Chevron had demonstrated its commitment to qualitative education over the years through investments in education infrastructure, manpower development programmes and provision of scholarships for indigent students.

The Chris Ikomi Memorial Essay Competition was initiated by NNPC/Chevron Joint Ventures in partnership with the Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to promote the study of English language as a subject.
