super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr gets contract extension till 2019

The Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has been given a new contract  that will expire in  2019.

The Nigeria Football Federation  president Amaju Pinnick  announced  the  new deal at an event in Lagos on Monday.

Rohr, who helped Nigeria qualify for  their sixth World Cup, will arrive in Russia for  next year’s football’s showpiece having another two years with the Eagles under his belt.

The  64-year-old former Gabon manager signed an initial two-year deal in July 2015 after he replaced Sunday Oliseh,  with the provision of an extension if the team  qualified  for Russia 2018.

Pinnick also  said  the NFF was not owing the German coach.

The  national football boss  also revealed that the NFF would announce the new manager of the  Super Falcons in the next 10  days.

“We are sorry that the Falcoms have been neglected and have not been getting the attention they needed, but I can assure you that all that will change and they will get the same attention and  benefits as the Super Eagles,”  he said.

Meanwhile,  the NFF launched its  short code *1945# for Russia 2018  World Cup in Lagos on Monday.

With the short code, 25 fans will win World Cup slots on a monthly basis from January 2018.
