Ogun State capital city, Abeokuta will witness another boom as fourteen year old Eniola Samuel Durosomo, an SS1 student of the famous Alaba Lawson Royal College of Abeokuta formally launch his musical career with a debut Album tagged – Grateful Heart on Sunday, 5th November at the Rock City Hall, Abiola Way in Abeokuta at one in the afternoon.

According to a statement issued by his Mum who doubles as his Band Manager, Omobolanle Durosomo,

“ Ennie Sax as fondly called by his peers and admirers, is the son of the late versatile broadcast journalist, Adesina Durosomo who passed on alongside other governor’s office press crew members while returning from an official assignment in Abuja with former Governor of  Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel; leaving behind little Eniola Samuel Durosomo who was barely three months old.”

Speaking on Eniola’s epoch making journey to the musical world, his manager explained thus;

“ Eniola’s contact with and love for music date back to age nine when he was in elementary class four of Lawson International Private school, Abeokuta.

It all started when during his first music class in school, one of the instructors from Sammdebby Musical Company engaged by the school to help develop student’s musical skills, asked Eniola to try his hands on the saxophone given his relative height. Eniola was to immediately fall in love with the musical instrument and has not looked back ever since.”

She noted further that, at that young age, Eniola was soon to become a noticeable figure within the school such that he was performing at several of the school’s major events with the unalloyed support and encouragement of both the school proprietress, Chief (Mrs.) Alaba Lawson and teachers.

Today, little Eniola is bringing smiles to both his late dad’s and mum’s faces by virtue of his exploits as a young saxophonist. At age 14, Eniola Durosomo is releasing his first ever album titled, “Grateful Heart”

Eniola has performed at a number of events,  prominent of which were: Former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s 80th Birthday Concert organised by his school; 50th birthday of Ogun State First Lady, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun; also organised by his school and Sammdebby Anniversary Concert at The UNILAG Theatre.

On who his mentor is within the industry, Eniola proudly points in the direction of the legendary saxophonist, Pastor Kunle Ajayi of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. He says he loves the way and manner Pastor Ajayi manipulates the saxophone in honour and praise of the ALMIGHTY GOD.

Also with the continued support of Eniola’s church, Jubilee Christian Church, Abeokuta and the encouragement of the clergy, Rev and Rev (Mrs) Kunle Adesina, he has been able to further advance his skills to an enviable level culminating in the release of the album.

The album, “Grateful Heart” has six tracks, namely; High praise, Worship Him, Hymnal, Home praise, I love my papa and Tribute.

Ennie says the album is dedicated to all Fathers but more importantly his father, the late Adesina Durosomo. This is what he wrote about his late dad;

“The CORE of my being stems from your enviable personality; one that radiates love, care compassion, forthrightness, purpose, industry and above all; Godliness. As a young man of no mean ORDER; you availed the world of your very BEST, bringing to bare, and all such virtues a son would ever be PROUD of! This sense of worth puts me in a very good stead of taking a plunge amidst convictions of your continued guidance. My dear ADESINA, as you look down on me; this day always, rest assure of my unalloyed commitment to our shared values of love, diligence, steadfastness, hardwork and focus!

I am setting forth; conquering the world, writing your name in GOLD and making you the PROUDEST dad that ever lived.

Rest on, my SUPER HERO!”

Ennie Sax however says he does not intend to build a full time career in music but will continue to be a useful tool to God and humanity through his saxophone and skills, positively touching lives.
