The management of The Foremost Institutional bank, Guaranty Trust Bank plc has distanced itself from a dummy cheque of N10,00 that was presented to the Best Graduating Medical Student of University of Nigeria, a picture that has since been trending online.

Some social media users had called out the bank for rewarding such genius with a meagre amount of money and using almost same amount to design the dummy- the banner which was presented to the winner.

In reacting to the story, GTBank stated that it had no primary connection with the cash gift as it was University of Nigeria Medical Student Association that used it’s cheque leaflet to write the order so that the winner can be paid using their account domiciled in one of it’s branch.
