In Nasarawa State, 3 Doctors have been reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.

The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) made this known on Friday.

The NMA Chairman, Dr Bulus Umaru said, the doctors infected are three gynaecologists.

”Three gynaecologists and two auxiliary staff have contracted the coronavirus in the course of their work.

“The doctors are now on admission at an isolation centre at the Federal Medical Centre and are responding to treatment,” NAN quoted him as saying.

Umaru, while advising health workers to be properly kitted with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) urged NMA members and other health workers to observe personal and environmental hygiene and guard against contracting the disease.

He, therefore, appealed to the Nasarawa State Government to pay hazard allowances to health workers battling the Coronavirus pandemic to ensure industrial harmony at this critical time.

Currently, Nasarawa State has recorded 88 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
