Chelsea want Isco or Asensio in Hazard Real Madrid transfer negotiations

Chelsea are reportedly interested in two Real Madrid players as they seek to get either Isco or Marco Asensio in exchange for the transfer of Eden Hazard.

The Belgium international continues to be linked with a move to the Bernabeu this summer in what could be a challenging first season for new manager Maurizio Sarri.

According to Diario Gol, Hazard is a top target for Real, though they are not currently willing to part with either Isco or Asensio this summer.

This could be problematic for the Blues, who would need a creative player of that kind if they lost their star man.

Both Isco and Asensio have spent time on the sidelines at Madrid, with the latter particularly failing to always make himself a regular starter during Zinedine Zidane’s time in charge.

It remains to be seen if that could change under new manager Julen Lopetegui, but Hazard’s arrival would surely only make it harder for Asensio to get the playing time he wants, and Don Balon have previously noted that could lead the 22-year-old to consider his future.

Chelsea will hope this to be the case if it can give them some edge in negotiations, though a report from earlier today from the Daily Mirror suggests they’re firm in their desire not sell Hazard at all, even for huge money, so how this saga will end is anyone’s guess.
