American rapper, Cardi B, has stirred controversy on social media after she called herself by her adopted Nigerian name – Chioma B – saying she was heading to South Africa for a performance.

Cardi B is headlining the 10th anniversary of Castle Lite Unlock concert in South Africa.

The rapper wrote on Twitter early Friday, requesting South Africans to teach her more about their country, while dragging Nigerians to the discourse.

“SOUTH AFRICA!! Chioma B is coming!!!! Teach me more bout your country in the comments,” she said.

Hours after Cardi B was announced headliner for the concert, local media said traffic crashed a tickets’ website.

Superstars who have graced the concert over the past decade include Drake, J. Cole, Chance the Rapper, Kanye West, Travis Scott, Post Malone and Meek Mill.

Cardi B was in Africa for the first time last year when he visited Nigeria and Ghana in December.
