In what looked like a mild drama in the early hours of Friday,a middle-aged man in Ogbeojie in Okpanam, Oshimili north local government area of Delta state, became pregnant after allegedly eating a stolen giant cock.
The drama, which attracted a large crowd of people, saw the man,simply identified as Ikechukwu, shouting for help after he allegedly consumed the stolen giant cock belonging to one EzeNwanyi a native of Agbor community.
EzeNwanyi, is also alleged to be popular native doctor who married to an Okpanam community man in the last 10 years and had had five children for him.
An eyewitness, John Osekwe, said EzeNwanyi reared big cocks and that had been well known to everyone in Okpanamcommunity, particularly the cocksfrom her clients.”
She was said to have placed a curse on the thieves and that one of such appeared to beIkechukwu.’
Confirming the incident, the woman, identified as EzeNwanyi said”among my cocks, one was stolen and I placed curses on the thieves and I didn’t know it was [him] that was the thief. Now, he is pregnant, he will settle with the gods to be freed or else he will continue to be pregnant”
Confessing to his crime, the man said:”Please forgive me EzeNwanyi. I stole your cock because I was hungry and I took one of your cocks, cooked and ate it; suddenly I started growing big tommy and I found myself “pregnant;” please help me madam I will not do it again”
After much pleading with EzeNwanyi, the man was ordered to produce seven fowls,16 tubers of yam and four litres of red oil to appease the gods and the aggrieved spirits who allegedly reacted to their master’s complaints to them.
As at the time of this report, family members of the suspect set out to ensure total cleansing and appeasement of the gods in a crime committed by their son who is a father of two children and self-acclaimed farmer in Okpanam community.
