The Nigeria Customs Service has advised Nigerians who applied for employment in the service to be careful with news about the next stage of the recruitment exercise.

In a statement on Tuesday, the NCS said members of the public should ignore news about the Recruitment Aptitude Test in circulation, calling it fake.

It said shortlisted candidates will be contacted through their emails and phone numbers via official aNd verified NCS channels.

The statement reads: “This is to inform the general public that, the news in circulation about the Recruitment Aptitude Test is fake. The system is presently filtrating to ensure that ONLY those who meet the criteria are shortlisted electronically.

“Once this is done, shortlisted candidates will be contacted through their emails and phone numbers.

“Please, note and avoid fraudulent messages from unofficial sources.”

The NCS began the process of recruiting 3,200 officers into the service when it opened its online portal on April 17, 2019. With the application process now closed, the service is working on shortlisting candidates for the next recruitment stage.

While 800 people would be recruited to fill vacancies in the Support Staff for Superintendent Cadre Category, 2,400 would fill that of Customs Inspector and Customs Assistant Cadre in the General Duty Categories.
