Men of Ogun state police command yesterday, (Sunday) arrested a 31-year-old fake soldier, Jolly Gilbert.

The fake soldier was arrested during the raiding of criminal hideout and black spots at Eyin-Ogbe area of ogijo.

Police Public Relations Officer for Ogun State Police Command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi told The Nigerian Voice that the suspect was arrested along with two others at the hideout in military camouflage shirt.

On interrogation, the suspect claimed to be a solder serving with 174 Battalion of Nigerian army.

Police Apprehend 31-Year-Old Fake Soldier

A signal was sent to the Battalion to authenticate his claim and it was revealed that the suspect is a fake soldier.

Recovered from him are; a solder identity card, a Jack knife, military hardware and assorted charms.

The commissioner of police CP Bashir Makama ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to special Anti robbery squad (SARS) for discreet investigation and prosecution.
