Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, Secretary-General, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) confirmed the sighting of the new moon of Ramadan in some states in Nigeria.

Oloyede said the formal announcement of the commencement of 2019 Ramadan fast will be made later tonight by His Eminence, Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar.
The NSCIA scribe confirmed the sighting of the moon in Sokoto, Kebbi and Yobe states and wish the Muslims happy Ramadan fast.

Saudi Arabia also sighted the Ramadan crescent at Hotat Sudair Observatory today.
