Dipo, who still represents the people of Amuwo Odofin State Constituency 1 till the end of the 8th assembly in Lagos, remains, and will for a very long time, retain his position as the best law-maker and representative any constituency in Lagos has ever had, a very intelligent and proactive member with a human face, the kind, hard to find in politics, especially now, when what politicians look for are personal gains and entitlements.
Speaking to the media on why he had to wait until now to join his other colleagues who left the PDP earlier, he says: Everything that concerns me had, before I was born, been orchestrated by God, and He is never late at any point, so, I feel very strongly in my heart that this is the appointed time for me to join my brothers in the APC and I did at the right time.
For me, Dipo continued, I served my former party, the PDP well, I served the people of Amuwo Odofin Constituency 1 well, I served the Lagos House of Assembly well and I served my God well, so, I am moving to the next phase of my life as a person and as a politician, and by God’s grace, I believe very strongly that where I am headed is far better than where I am currently, for greater opportunities for service to the people on a larger scale.
Hon. Dipo Olorunrinu’s contributions and achievements as a representative of the people of Amuwo Odofin constituency 1, can never be overtaken by whoever will be replacing him in the house, for those are land-mark achievements, never been done by any honourable member of a state assembly and this is the challenge whoever takes over from him will face for FOUR YEARS.
Never in the history of Lagos has a rep represented his people the way Dipo did, especially when others were busy building toilets, so their constituents can defecate, Dipo Olorunrinu transported pupils to schools, free, provided educational materials to every child in his constituency, free food too, gave Churches and Mosques electricity, renovated bad roads, paid transportation fares of residents of Amuwo Odofin, paid school fees, just name them, everything that made life worth living, he did for his people.
On the floor of the Lagos House of Assembly, Dipo, who is popularly called “TALK & DO” by his people, is one reps whose intelligence and Intellgent contributions helped galvanize the house, making sure that his lone membership was not noticed and taken advantage.
The Lagos State House of Assembly will surely miss the only member of the opposition, who worked hard to earn the respect of both the leadership of the house and that of other members of the house.
