Former Holland coach, Louis van Gaal, has announced retirement from football management three years after he was sacked by Manchester United.
Van Gaal spent two years at Old Trafford, before being relieved of his duties after winning the FA Cup in 2016.
He led United to fourth and fifth place finish during his tenure before he was replaced by Jose Mourinho.
The former Barcelona boss was recently linked to a host of jobs, including the chance to take over at Dutch side Feyenoord next season. He, however, rejected the offer.
“I am a pensioner now. I have no ambition to be a technical director or a TV pundit,” Van Gaal told Dutch TV show VTBL.
“She is entitled to have a life with me outside of football. I can say she is very happy.
“I think I could have worked as a technical director.
“But in this role you can’t attend training or say anything for fear it won’t suit the coach, directors or media. I don’t think I want a job like that.”
The 67-year-old won three Dutch league titles, the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup during his time as coach of Ajax.
He also won league titles at Barcelona, AZ Alkmaar and Bayern Munich.
He led the Dutch national team to a third place finish at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
