What Deji Adeyanju Said About Shiites After His Release From Kano Prison

Human right activist, Deji Adeyanju, has expressed his appreciation to the members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, popularly called Shiites, for their support during his time in Kano central prison.

Adeyanju took to his Twitter handle to express his appreciation.

Adeyanju, who regained his freedom after 78-days in prison arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Saturday.

He was released nearly two weeks the Kano State High Court granted the activist a bail after being accused of murder, which drew drawn nationwide attention.

He was leading a protest against alleged police bias ahead of the general elections when he was arrested and accused of defamation against senior security chiefs.

“I want to specially thank all Shiites and members of the @zakzakysupport for the love & affection shown to me during my incarceration in Kano. They came to see me every day even when the government banned visits. Immediately bail was fixed, we had over 100 of them volunteering,”

Deji wrote.
