OPay Delays NYSE IPO Amid Regulatory Review, Reaffirms Commitment to Financial Inclusion
OPay Limited has postponed its proposed initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange as a regulatory inquiry remains ongoing, reaffirming that the development will have no effect on its financial services.
The company disclosed the decision in a statement issued to its customers, merchants, agents, business partners and the general public.
It explained that the postponement followed careful consideration of the circumstances surrounding the regulatory inquiry and was considered to be in the best interests of the business and its stakeholders.
While the planned listing has been suspended, OPay said its business operations remain fully functional in Nigeria and other markets where it operates.
The company assured customers that they would continue to enjoy uninterrupted access to its services, including money transfers, payments, savings and other financial products available through its platforms.
It further clarified that the regulatory development surrounding the proposed NYSE listing does not affect the company’s ability to serve customers or support its merchants and agents.
The announcement is intended to reassure stakeholders who may have concerns about the implications of the postponed IPO for the company’s financial services operations.
OPay expressed gratitude to its customers, merchants, agents, employees and business partners for their continued confidence, loyalty and support.
The company also reiterated its commitment to leveraging technology to expand financial inclusion and improve access to convenient, reliable and accessible financial services.
