BREAKING: Customs Appoints Jonah Adamu Supervising Volleyball Coach
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has appointed former Nigeria international, Jonah Adamu, as the supervising head coach of its men’s and women’s volleyball teams.
Samuel Onikeku, Head of Sports, NCS, announced the appointment after the service’s friendly match against the Nigeria Correctional Service on Wednesday at the indoor sports hall of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
Onikeku said Adamu will oversee both teams, with responsibility for the men’s side during matches and the flexibility to supervise the women’s team when necessary.
“Former Nigeria international, Adamu, has been appointed as the supervising coach of the men and women’s teams.
“He will handle the men’s team during matches and can be drafted to oversee the women’s team whenever the occasion arises, as he is supervising both teams,” he said.
Onikeku also announced the appointment of Priscilla Agera, an All African Games gold medallist in indoor volleyball and beach volleyball, as supervising coach for the women’s team’s coaching staff.
Agera will supervise Francisca Ikhiede, Bose Melaye and Tosin Bukky, who recently acquired the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Level One coaching certification.
The Head of Sports said the Controller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, had invested significantly in the teams as they prepared for the second phase of the 2026 CGC Volleyball Premier League.
The second phase of the competition is scheduled to begin on Friday.
