BREAKING: Premier League Club, Everton Put Up For Sale
According to report, EVERTON’s owners are reportedly open to SELLING the club – less than two years after buying it.
The Friedkin Group (TFG) completed their takeover of the Toffees in December 2024.
But according to The Athletic, they are now actively considering a full sale.
It emerged last month that TFG were scouring the market for external investment.
The American investment group have been seeking a minority sale to inject funds that could take the club forward.
That option is still on the table – but auctioning off a majority stake is also believed to be under consideration.
It is said that TFG are ‘completely happy’ to keep hold of Everton until the right deal emerges.
And that they will only hand over the keys to the Merseyside outfit if they are ‘convinced’ the new buyers can propel them to another level.
TFG, who also own Roma and AS Cannes, have stabilised the Toffees since acquiring Farhad Moshiri’s 94 per cent stake 22 months ago.
Talks had broken down with several other prospective buyers before TFG eventually completed the deal and steered Everton away from years of financial turmoil.
But fans were in uproar after a summer transfer in which £100million worth of talent was sold.
Everton finished an underwhelming 13th in the Premier League last season before turning a £25m profit in the window.
Manchester City snapped up Iliman Ndiaye for £65m, and it took a fan protest to halt Harrison Armstrong’s proposed £40m move to Nottingham Forest.
Everton are one of only five Prem teams who are still unbeaten after five games.
They sit seventh, level on points with Merseyside neighbours Liverpool, after two wins and three draws.
And they will pick things back up after the international break with a trip to Hull on Sunday.
