BREAKING: At Last, #INEC Updates NDC’s Certified Logo On Portal Ahead Of 2027 Elections
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has changed the logo displayed for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on its official portal, with the commission now reflecting the party’s blue-background “Two Fingers Up” logo ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The updated logo features a blue background, a two-finger victory sign and the red “NDC” inscription. The development follows a September 8, 2026 judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja directing INEC to approve, upload and use the modified logo for elections conducted by the commission.
The dispute began after the NDC alleged that INEC initially uploaded the modified logo but later removed it and reverted to the older logo associated with the party’s original registration.
The party subsequently approached the court, seeking an order compelling INEC to recognise its modified logo. Justice Joyce Abdulmalik ruled that the modified design adopted at the NDC’s first National Executive Council meeting on March 25, 2026, should be recognised as the party’s official logo.
Following the judgment, NDC leaders directed the party’s candidates and members to use the modified logo on campaign materials, including banners, posters and other publicity materials.
The latest update on the INEC portal brings the commission’s online records in line with the court order as political parties prepare for the 2027 elections.
