Of the three occupants of his Tundra Toyota truck, Badeh was the only one killed as the vehicle was riddled with bullets piercing the windscreen, fueling speculations that he was assassinated.

Alex Badeh was a retired four star general of the Nigerian Air force who served as the 18th Chief of Air Staff and the 15th Chief of Defence Staff of the armed forces of Nigeria.
