JUST IN: Odyssey Media House CIC Launches Community Photography Project In Bradford
Odyssey Media House CIC today announced the launch of A City in Frames, a community arts and culture initiative designed to capture Bradford through the eyes of the people who know it best.
Through free mobile photography workshops, guided storytelling sessions, a citywide photography exhibition, and a short documentary film, the project will empower residents from across Bradford to document the places, people, and everyday moments that define their communities.
Open to residents aged 13 and older from all backgrounds, the project leverages the accessibility of smartphone photography to remove barriers to participation and encourage authentic storytelling. Working alongside local photographers, filmmakers, artists, and community organisations, participants will develop practical creative skills and contribute to a collective visual archive of Bradford’s people, cultures, and neighbourhoods.
“A City in Frames recognises that every resident experiences Bradford differently. Every street, every neighbourhood, and every community holds stories that deserve to be seen and remembered. This project creates space for people to tell those stories in their own voice, through their own lens, while building a shared portrait of Bradford that belongs to everyone,” said Oluwadamilola Adetomiwa, CEO of Odyssey Media House CIC.
The project will unfold in several stages, beginning with free community workshops delivered across Bradford. Participants will receive practical guidance on mobile photography before joining guided photographic walks led by experienced local creatives. Images and video footage submitted by participants will be curated into a public exhibition and woven together into a professionally produced 15-minute documentary exploring the many stories that make up Bradford.
Alongside the exhibition, Odyssey Media House CIC will host community conversations, artist talks, screenings, and interactive storytelling events, encouraging residents to reflect on Bradford’s identity through one another’s experiences and perspectives.
Under the campaign leadership of Gbolajesu Amusa, the project is expected to create a lasting visual record of Bradford’s cultural diversity while increasing participation in the arts, supporting local creative talent, and empowering residents to become storytellers of their own communities. Through a storytelling-led approach, the initiative seeks to ensure that Bradford’s identity is documented not only by institutions but by the people who live it every day.
“Some of the most powerful stories about a city are often the ones that go undocumented,” said Gbolajesu Amusa, Marketing & PR Director of Odyssey Media House CIC. “This project is about giving people the tools and platform to capture the people, places, and moments that matter to them. Through photography and storytelling, we’re creating an opportunity for Bradford residents to shape how their communities are seen, remembered, and celebrated.”
The project is expected to create meaningful opportunities for community participation, creative expression, and cultural exchange while building a lasting archive of stories that reflect Bradford’s rich diversity and identity.
