EXPOSED!!! Abducted Oyo Principal Denies ₦1bn Ransom And Sharia Demands In Fresh Video [WATCH HERE]
A fresh video released by the kidnappers holding pupils and teachers abducted from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle, in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, has shown the school’s principal, Mrs Rachael Alamu, denying reports that the abductors demanded a ₦1 billion ransom and the implementation of Sharia law across Nigeria.
In the video, Mrs Alamu said she decided to address what she described as misleading reports circulating in some sections of the media regarding the demands made by their captors.
According to the principal, who disclosed that they had spent 24 days in captivity, the kidnappers did not ask for ₦1 billion or seek the imposition of Sharia law as widely reported.
“Please, I have come to make some clarification. Today makes it 24 days that we have been in this place. Some press media outlets are complicating the issue by stating that the people who abducted us requested N1 billion ransom and demanded Sharia law across the country. These claims are not true,” she said.
Mrs Alamu stated that the abductors were instead demanding the release of some of their members currently being held in government custody.

The latest footage is the newest video released since gunmen invaded schools in Ahoro-Esinle and neighbouring communities in Oriire Local Government Area on 15 May 2026, abducting scores of pupils, teachers and residents.
The principal had earlier appeared in previous videos from captivity, appealing to President Bola Tinubu and Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde to ensure the safe release of the victims. She had also urged authorities to pursue peaceful means in securing their freedom.
The abduction has generated widespread concern across the country, with calls mounting on security agencies and the government to intensify efforts aimed at rescuing the victims and tackling the growing insecurity affecting schools and rural communities.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Oyo State Government nor security agencies had officially reacted to the claims made by Mrs Alamu in the latest video.
The prolonged captivity of the victims has continued to raise fears among residents and renewed concerns over the safety of schools in parts of the country vulnerable to attacks by armed groups.
