BREAKING: Victor Osimhen Rated Above Yamal, Kane And Haaland
Lucas Torreira has placed Victor Osimhen among the three best players in world football, ranking the Nigerian striker ahead of stars such as Lamine Yamal, Vinícius Júnior, Harry Kane and Erling Haaland.
The Galatasaray midfielder made the claim during an interview with MK News Turkey, naming Osimhen alongside Federico Valverde and Kylian Mbappé as the standout trio in the game.
“Federico Valverde, Kylian Mbappé, and Victor Osimhen are currently the world’s best footballers,” Torreira said.
The former Arsenal and Atlético Madrid midfielder’s praise follows a prolific campaign by the 27-year-old Nigerian forward. Osimhen has delivered 19 goals and seven assists in 29 matches across all competitions this season.
His form has powered Galatasaray’s push to retain the Süper Lig title and helped drive the club to the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League, marking the first time in more than a decade that a Turkish side has reached that stage.
Interest in Osimhen continues to build across Europe. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus are all believed to be monitoring his situation. However, a summer move looks unlikely given his record salary in Turkey and his public affection for life in Istanbul.
Former Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt has also urged the Premier League club to consider a move for the striker ahead of next season.
Butt questioned United’s current attacking options and suggested that Benjamin Šeško may need support to lead the line.
“I don’t think Šeško can carry the club up front on his own; they will need another No. 9. I don’t think he needs replacing, but someone better who can lift his game as well,” Butt told the Daily Mirror.
He added: “I know Osimhen isn’t proven in the Premier League, but you look at his physicality and the way he plays football; he can definitely handle it. He’s powerful, quick, can run in behind, strong, and scores different types of goals. He’s good in the air.”
