Popular TikTok creator Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja, known as Peller, has sparked online controversy after stating during a livestream that members of the Yoruba ethnic group often ask for money excessively.

During the stream, Peller, who identified himself as Yoruba, claimed that Yoruba people “beg a lot,” describing their style of asking for money as “premium.”

He went further to suggest that some individuals demand large sums, particularly during online streaming sessions, where he alleged they expect payments starting from one million naira.

He went further to allege that some individuals demand large sums of money, stating, “They beg, and their own is premium… if you want to stream, you have to pay from one million upwards.”

Peller also insisted that the practice was excessive, adding, “I am Yoruba; it is too much, I swear to God; we beg a lot.”
