BREAKING: Twitch Suspends Carter Efe’s Account Days After Becoming Africa’s Most-Followed Streamer
Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Carter Efe has announced that his Twitch account has been suspended for four months.
In a statement shared on Monday, Carter Efe revealed that the streaming platform cited violations of its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines but did not provide specific details regarding the alleged infractions.
The suspension comes at a high point in his online career, following a surge in popularity that recently saw him surpass rivals such as Shank Comics and record a landmark live stream featuring Afrobeats superstar Davido. The development sparked an outpouring of support from fans, who flooded his social media pages with messages of encouragement.
Many supporters described the comedian as a “joy giver” and appealed to Twitch to reconsider or review the decision, expressing disappointment over the timing of the ban during the holiday season.
Speculation has since emerged that the suspension may have been triggered by mass reports related to comments made during his streams or his trademark on-air antics. However, rumors suggesting he had also been banned from other platforms were later dismissed as false.
