BREAKING: Ex-Liverpool Star, Fabio Carvalho Ruled Out For Rest Of Season
BRENTFORD star Fabio Carvalho will miss the rest of the season after suffering an ACL injury.
The former Liverpool midfielder is set to undergo surgery.
Carvalho has seen a specialist and started his rehabilitation programme.
The attacking midfielder has made 33 appearances for the Bees since signing last year.
He has played nine games this year, scoring three goals.
However he has completed 90 minutes just once in the Premier League – on the opening day of the season.
But Carvalho was ever present in the Carabao Cup, not missing a minute to help Brentford reach the quarter-final where they meet Manchester City.
He also scored a last-minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw with Chelsea in September.
The 23-year-old started his career at Brentford’s neighbours Fulham, where he impressed as a youngster to earn a move to Anfield.
But he failed to nail down a regular spot at Liverpool and was loaned to RB Leipzig and Hull City.
Strong performances in those spells led Brentford to swoop with a £27.5million bid.
He struggled for starts under Thomas Frank last season and has largely been kept out of the side this season by the likes of Kevin Schade and Dango Ouattara.
