SOWORE: Amidst Regina Daniels’ Allegations, Senator Ned Nwoko Must Be Held Accountable For Crimes Against A Minor And Abuse Of Power
The Genius Media Nigeria reports that Activist, Omoyele Sowore, has said that embattled lawmaker, Senator Ned Nwoko, must be held accountable for crimes against a minor and abuse of power.
In a post shared on his IG page this afternoon November 9, Sowore said that the lawmaker must be held accountable for the allegations his estranged wife, Regina, levelled against him in her recent post. Regina in her post shared in the early hours of today November 9, alleged that she was only 17 when she was married off to the lawmaker.
Sowore in his statement said at 17, Regina was legally a minor under UK law where Nwoko remains a registered legal practitioner. He pointed out that any sexu@l activity following that marriage would, under British law, amount to statutory rape.
He mentioned that more disturbing are Regina’s allegations that Senator Nwoko introduced her to hard drugs while she was still underage and repeatedly forced himself upon her. He stated that Regina’s allegations are serious criminal offences that demand investigation and prosecution.
He went on to say that it is unacceptable for Ned Nwoko to continue parading himself as a lawyer in the United Kingdom while facing these damning allegations. He called on the Law Society of England and Wales as well as the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) to begin disciplinary proceedings before the Independent Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT) to determine his fitness to practise law in the UK.
