JUST IN: LASU Opens 2025 Recruitment For Academic And Technical Positions
The Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, has announced internal and external recruitment advertisements for several vacant academic and technical positions across its faculties and centres.
According to a public statement signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Emmanuel A. Fanu, qualified candidates are invited to apply for various positions at the Ojo and Epe campuses of the institution.
The vacancies cut across the Faculties of Social Sciences, Arts, Education, Management Sciences, Science, the Centre for Environmental Studies and Sustainable Development (CESSED) at Ojo, and the Faculty of Environmental Sciences and School of Agriculture at Epe Campus.
The advertised positions include Professor (CONUASS 07), Associate Professor/Associate Research Professor (CONUASS 06), Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow (CONUASS 05), Lecturer I/Research Fellow I (CONUASS 04), Lecturer II/Research Fellow II (CONUASS 03), Assistant Lecturer (CONUASS 02), and Laboratory Technologist (CONUNASS 08).
Applicants are expected to have specific academic qualifications depending on the level applied for.
The statement reads, “Professor: Ten (10) years post-doctoral qualification with teaching and research experience in an academic institution and a minimum of twenty-five (25) academic publications.” For the position of Associate Professor, eight years post-doctoral experience and a minimum of twenty publications are required, while Senior Lecturers must have at least six years of post-doctoral experience with fifteen publications.
The Registrar further added that candidates for Lecturer I, Lecturer II, and Assistant Lecturer must possess a PhD or Master’s degree with strong research potential and evidence of ongoing doctoral study. All applicants must have five O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings, as well as a first degree with at least Second-Class Lower Division plus an NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
Membership of professional bodies such as ARCON, CORBON, ESVARBON, QSRBN, SURCON, and TOPREC is required for certain Environmental Sciences disciplines. Reference letters must be sent directly to the Registrar under confidential seal within one week after the close of application.
Applications, including fifteen copies of detailed credentials and Curriculum Vitae, should be addressed to the Registrar, 5th Floor, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, Lagos State University, Ojo Campus. The closing date is six weeks from the date of this advertisement.
