BREAKING: Super Falcons Defeat Morocco Win WAFCON For 10th Time
In a dramatic final at Rabat’s Olympic Stadium, Super Falcons defeated hosts Morocco 3-2 to clinch their record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
From being 2-0 down at half time, to scoring three goals in the second half, the Super Falcons did the impossible, beating the host nation to win the #WAFCON2024 tournament.
Esther Okoronkwo kickstarted the comeback with a well-taken penalty before turning provider for Folashade Ijamilusi, who made it 2-2. With just minutes left on the clock, Jennifer Echegini rose highest to connect with a free-kick and head in the dramatic winner.
The result sees Nigeria extend their dominance on the continent with a record 10th WAFCON title, reaffirming their status as Africa’s most successful women’s football team.
