BREAKING: Court Grants Lawmaker Alex Ikwechegh N500000 Bail Over Assault Charge—-The Magistrate Court in Kuje, Abuja, has granted bail to Alex Ikwechegh, a member of the House of Representatives.

The Genius Media Nigeria reports that On Wednesday, the presiding magistrate decided that Ikwechegh file a N500,000 bail bond with the court to regain his freedom after the police arraigned him for assaulting Samuel Abuwatseya, a Bolt driver.

TGM earlier reported that the Inspector-General of Police’s office arraigned the lawmaker.

Ikwechegh pleaded not guilty to three counts bordering on assault and threat to life.

He was filmed slapping and threatening Abuwatseya in his Maitama residence in Abuja on Sunday.

Ikwechegh issued an apology on Tuesday, and the House of Representatives handed the matter over to the committee on ethics and privilege to decide on.
