BREAKING: Brazil Wins Bid To Host The 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup – #FIFAWWC [VIDEO]—–Brazil has been named the host of the 2027 Women’s World Cup, beating out a joint bid by the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

They will become the first South American country to host a Women’s World Cup after the bid won the vote 119-78 at the FIFA Congress in Bangkok, Thailand. It was also the first time that the entire electorate voted.

The triumvirate of Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, known as BNG, promised to deliver the Women’s World Cup with the highest commercial revenue in the history of the women’s game.

The joint bid between the United States and Mexico withdrew last month to focus on the 2031 tournament, while South Africa pulled out last November also citing a 2031 bid, leaving BNG and Brazil the remaining two bids.

The European bid ultimately lost out to Brazil, who scored an average of 4.0 in FIFA’s bid evaluation, while BNG got 3.7 and saw their score knocked down due to a high-risk score on its legal framework.

Brazil scored higher in areas such as stadiums, accommodation, fan zones and transport in the evaluation report.

“It is a victory for the world and for women’s football,” said Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the Confederation of Brazilian Football (CBF).

FIFA president Gianni Infantino said: “Congratulations to Brazil.

“We will have the best World Cup in Brazil. Many thanks as well to the BNG bid, who have been fantastic.”

BraziI delivered a presentation led by the slogan ‘A Natural Choice’ and argued that it was the “country of soccer” and had never staged the tournament.

It highlighted that the Brazilian federal government had offered the guarantees that FIFA requires to stage the competition.

The country last hosted a major FIFA tournament in 2014, when the World Cup returned for the first time in 64 years.

FIFA is hoping to build on the global success of the 2023 Women’s World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand. The tournament generated over $570m (£450m) according to Infantino.
