The late Yakub was a Professor of Arabic in the Department of Foreign Languages.

He was a language consultant, translator and applied linguist.

Professor Yakub died on Sunday, 24 March, 2024 in Mecca.

He was on Lesser Hajj with his wife, Professor Jemilat Yakub, first female Professor of Economics in LASU.

The late Professor Yakub was in his 60s and has since been buried in Mecca
