His Excellency, (Lt.Gen.Rtd) Ambassador Tukur Yusufu Buratai CFR, has been conferred with a top traditional title, Ochiagha Dike Eji Ogu- Aguleri by His Royal Majesty, Dr. Mike Idigo V. Igwe of Aguleri Kingdom during the 124th Annual Ovala Aguleri fiesta on Saturday, January 6th, 2024.
The chieftaincy title which means the brave warrior that leads his troops to battle was conferred on him for his patriotism, courage and impacts on the good people of Anambra and Aguleri in particular during the era of insecurity.
While eulogising him, the former governor of Anambra, His Excellency, Chief Sir Willie Obiano FCA,CFR appraised the sterling roles Buratai played in saving him and the people of Aguleri from several imminent crises. He admitted that since the inception, Aguleri has never seen the crops of quality dignitaries that followed him to the ceremony, a testament of the impactful life of Buratai.
Also, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Mike Idigo V. Igwe of Aguleri Kingdom revealed that the decision to bestowed such a chieftaincy title on him was not a mistake. He charged him to see himself as an Aguleri from today.
“ I want you to know that Aguleri has become your second home. Confidently pride yourself as naturalised Aguleri indigene. But remember that the bond established today is a symbiotic one”
At the conferment ceremony on Saturday, Buratai appreciated Chief Obiano for the friendship and the Igwe too for counting him worthy of such a title.
