That’s because the Argentine star is set to sign a new contract with Roma, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

Tuttomercatoweb reports that Dybala has agreed a new contract until June 2026 with an option to extend for a further year.

Most importantly, the release clauses in his contract will be changed to make them higher and more difficult to activate.

The Blues have been interested in signing Dybala this summer, with new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino known to be a big admirer of his Argentine countryman.

Pochettino previously failed to sign Dybala for Tottenham in 2019.

One of the big attractions of signing Dybala was the presence of two release clauses in his contract.

The first release clause stands at just €12 million and is valid for foreign clubs only.

The second release clause is €20m and is valid for Serie A teams only.

It has been reported that these clauses expire, for this summer, at the end of July.

Nevertheless, Dybala signing a new contract means he is committing his future to Roma and will end Chelsea’s chances of signing him.
