Findings gathered that instead of dealing with the thieves as who they are, Muslims and Christians youths started fighting with broken bottles.

Before you know it pandemonium broke out and Thursday was the market day. A lot of innocent people who came to the market was caught in the mayhem.

As at the time of filing this report, sources affirmed that: “So far we have retrieved no fewer than 40 corpses littered around the place. Many were injured and were taken to Saint Gerard’s hospital in Kaduna.”

Commenting on the crisis, the Vice Chairman of Kajuru Local government, Gambo Suleiman said the crisis was unnecessary and call for calm.

He also advised the residents of the area to remain calm and embrace peace as the state government and local government are trying their best to bring development to the area.

Even though he said he was not certain about the number of those killed as a result of the mayhem as they are still trying to save the lives of people, but he commended the efforts of the security agencies in curtailing the crisis from escalating.

Also, the Police could not confirm the number of those killed as the Police image maker, Yakubu Sabo could not respond as at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, the state government has imposed 24 hours curfew in the affected area. This was contained in a statement issued to the press and signed by the governor’s image maker, Samuel Aruwan.

While calling for calm, the statement maintained that the state government is determined to bring peace to the area.
