ISN’s Supply Chain Manager, Mrs. Olamide Akin-Balogun, said it was necessary to celebrate children and caregivers as a way of giving back to the society.

She said: “We are here to give back to the society. This is ISN’s way of celebrating Christmas with the community around us especially the children. We chose to bring out the beauty in the season and make a difference by putting smiles on the faces of the children and the caregivers. Asides fulfilling our Corporate Social Responsibility, this is our own way of sharing the happiness and joy that this season brings. Speaking on why ISN brought mattresses, bedspreads, pillow cases, fibre pillows, clothing and toys to the home, among other gifts, Akin-Balogun said: “when we visited the home (before the party) we realised that they had some bed frames but some mattresses were missing or bad. So, what we have done now is to fill up all of the mattresses. Amongst other items in the backpacks we also have bedspreads and pillowcases for all the children in the home. This is so that they have mattresses, bedspreads, pillowcases and fibre pillows.”

She added: “Putting smiles on the faces of the children is important to us because it’s Christmas and it’s the time of love. It’s the time to share and it’s time to give back to society. My MD, Mr Felix Ofungwu is passionate about this and dedicated to its continuity.”

She commended the government for providing a conducive environment for the children, while urging well meaning Nigerians to extend a hand of fellowship to orphanages in the state.

“The government is doing their best, the environment is clean. The children are not looking impoverished; they are well dressed and look well taken care of. I also commend the Head of the home and caregivers as they apparently do a good job of taking care of the children.

“This shouldn’t be left to the government alone, we need more corporate and individual involvement just the same way ISN is doing today, by giving back to the society to support the government’s effort.”

One of the caregivers, Akinsanya Oluwafemi commended ISN for the treat given to the children and urged well meaning Nigerians to continue to show love to the children in orphanages.
