Be Cautious Crossing Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, #FRSC Urges #Pedestrians—-The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, on Monday, urged pedestrians to be cautious while crossing the Itori-Papa portion of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway to avoid unnecessary loss of lives.

The Itori Unit Commander of FRSC, Mr Shamaki Yerima, gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota.

Yerima said the advice became necessary due to the increasing cases of motorists driving against the traffic on that road.

The unit commander, who identified driving against the traffic as a major challenge confronting the command, however, said the FRSC was on top of the situation.

He said the FRSC tried to educate the public on the need to be observant whenever it found the opportunity to do so.

“The people should always look at both sides of the road before crossing the road, especially at Itori-Papa Axis, to avoid being knocked down by drivers driving against the traffic.

“In addition, they should position themselves in a place where they can see clearly before crossing the road,” he said.

Yerima also admonised them against staying behind a vehicle where they can’t see oncoming vehicles that could knock them down.

The unit commander sounded a note of warning to drivers, that whoever was found driving against the traffic on the expressway would be apprehended by FRSC personnel
