The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed that six persons were killed in multiple attacks in Borno on Wednesday night.

In a statement issued in Maiduguri on Thursday by Bashir Garga, its North-East Coordinator, NEMA said: “Suspected Boko Haram insurgents on Wednesday night burnt down three villages in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno, in an attack that left six people dead.

“The insurgents attacked and set Wanori, Kaleri and Amarwa villages on fire at about 9:00 pm.”
The agency said villagers told rescue officials who went on assessment of the damage that the insurgents shot indiscriminately, looting food items before setting the villages on fire.

“Over 180 households were affected by the attack,” it said. However, a local source told Saharareporters that more than eight people were killed and many injured in the attack.”
