BREAKING: Wizkid Wins Best African Act At 2021 MTV Awards – #MTVEMA2021—-Singer Wizkid has bagged the award for Best African Act at the just concluded MTV Europe Music Awards.
The Genius Media Nigeria reports that Wizkid was announced as the winner during the award ceremony on Sunday.
The organisers of the award also congratulated him in an Instagram post.
“HUGE congratulations to BIG WIZ @wizkidayo 🦅 for winning Best African Act! From Lagos to the world,” the post read.
Reacting to the news on Twitter, the excited singer tweeted saying,” Lagos to da world.”
Wizkid was nominated alongside his ‘Essence’ partner Tems.
Since the release of their hit single ‘Essence’ the duo has continued to receive international recognition and has peaked at number 10 on Billboard hot 100.
