#CHEMCI: Chelsea And Man United Suffer Defeat, Everton Win—-The Genius Media Nigeria reports that Gabriel Jesus ended Chelsea’s unbeaten start to the season as Manchester City won 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

The champions started brightly and went close in the third minute when Aymeric Laporte’s header dropped wide.

Chelsea were forced into a change before the half-hour mark as Reece James went off with an injury, Thiago Silva replacing him.

City continued to dominate and Jesus sliced a good chance wide at the end of the first half.

Jesus made up for that miss with the decisive goal, a deflected shot on the turn from the edge of the area on 53 minutes.

City had chances to double their lead. Jack Grealish drew a save from Edouard Mendy before Jesus was denied a second by Silva’s goalline clearance.

Man City move up to second position on 13 points, ahead of Chelsea, on goal difference.

Hause shocks Man United

Kortney Hause scored a late winner before Bruno Fernandes missed a stoppage-time penalty as Aston Villa recorded a rare Premier League victory over Manchester United, winning 1-0 at Old Trafford.

Man Utd were on top early on, but Villa missed two great chances to take the lead. Matt Targett blazed over from close range and Ollie Watkins shot too close to David De Gea.

Man Utd lost Luke Shaw to injury before going close twice just before half-time. Harry Maguire’s header was saved well while Paul Pogba’s header went narrowly wide.

Maguire went off injured in the second half before Hause headed in Douglas Luiz’s corner with two minutes remaining.

Hause then conceded a penalty in stoppage time, handling a cross. But Fernandes fired over the resulting spot-kick.

A second Villa win over Man Utd in 46 Premier League matches lifts them to seventh with 10 points. Man Utd drop to fourth on 13 points after their first defeat of the season.

Townsend, Doucoure secure Everton victory

Andros Townsend and Abdoulaye Doucoure scored in either half as Everton beat Norwich City 2-0 at Goodison Park.

Everton were on top early on as Townsend drew a save from Tim Krul on 19 minutes.

The hosts were awarded a penalty on 29 minutes after a VAR review found Ozan Kabak had fouled Allan. Townsend converted to give Everton the lead.

Norwich’s first chance came at the end of the first half when Mathias Normann’s shot saved was by Jordan Pickford.

The Canaries improved after the break, with Normann drawing another save before Ben Gibson had a header blocked.

Abdoulaye Doucoure secured Everton’s win on 77 minutes when he slotted past Krul from Demarai Gray’s assist.

Everton move up to fifth with 13 points. Norwich remain bottom of the table without a point after a 16th Premier League defeat in a row.
