The political atmosphere in Borno State is even as tensed as the security atmosphere as 19 candidates jostle for the opportunity to occupy the government house in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The 19 Candidates has gone all out to enrich the pocket of the All Progressives Congress, the National Ruling Party. The total of forms acquired by each and all the 19 gubernatorial candidates has been summed up to exactly Four Hundred & Twenty-Seven Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira(427,500,000).
This figure was arrived at after each candidate was forced to pay the sum of Twenty Two Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira (22,500,000) just to get a chance to contest at the primary level of the party.
