NGIJ Commends Gov Abiodun Over Approval Of Promotion Examination For Civil Servants—The Nigeria Guild Of Investigative Journalists, NGIJ Ogun State Chapter has commemded Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun Mfr for approving promotion for Civil Servants in the state.

According to the press statement jointly signee by Solanke Ayomideji Taiwo, Publicity Secretary and Lisoye Lekan, Secretary described the move as a round peg in the round hole at this present time.

It could be recalled that the circular for the promotion examination was signed by the Permanent Secretary, Civil Service Commission, Mr. Kolawole Ogunlana, requesting Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), to reconfirm the list of eligible officers, earlier submitted to the Commission.

According to Ogunlana, due to the prevailing circumstance of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Governor has waived the promotion written examination across all cadres and grade levels in the State Public/Civil Service.

He enjoined all MDAs to prepare promotion oral interview briefs, in accordance with the usual format and submit to the appropriate Agencies on or before 1st March, 2021, calling on all eligible candidates to purchase Ogun State Public Service Regulation Hand Book (1978) from Room A261 in the Civil Service commission at a sum of Two Thousand Naira (2000) each.

The promotion examination will enable Ogun Civil Servants In Ogun upgrade their levels in the civil service, This is a welcome development from the man of the people, Dapo Abiodun, the promotion will not only upgrade the civil servant but make them get better salaries to cater for their families.” Solanke Said.

He urged the civil servants to distance themselves from all forms of malpractices which may lead to disqualification in the forthcoming examination.
