“We will give this nation security results. We will not give excuses or cover any act of criminality and impunity, whatever the colour and creed of the criminals. We will end the cheapening of the lives of Nigerians. Gunmen will be known and traced to their roots, arrested and made to face the law. Nigerians will be proud of their country again.”..JANG

A former governor of Plateau State, Senator Jonah Jang, has declared his intention to vie for the presidency in 2019.

Jang, who is representing Plateau North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, made the declaration yesterday at the state secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jos.

A former military governor of Benue and Gongola states, Jang said he has what it takes to be the president of the country, considering his experience in military training, governance, democracy and the legislature.

Jang, who said his contribution towards general development of the nation could not be overlooked, pledged to give priority attention to peace and security if he was voted as president.

He added that the clamour for restructuring would be addressed in line with the provisions of the law.

Jang, who promised to grow the economy and stop Nigeria from being a dumping site for the saturated economies of other nations, stressed the need to strengthen all the anti-graft agencies and fight corruption within the confines of the rule of law in a balanced, consistent and sustained manner.
