Tragedy Hits Beirut Again As Explosion Leaves 2 Dead And Many Injured [VIDEO]—The city of Beirut in Lebanon on Friday evening saw a diesel tank explosion that’s shook it’s very foundation leaving two two dead and several injured.
This tragic incident was confirmed by the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Red Cross, George Kittana who said military and emergency services arrived at the Tawik Jdide area of Beirut, Lebanon, following reports.
Chilling footage posted to Twitter shows firefighters tackling a large blaze as people scream and shout behind them and Images of brave locals aiding them.
Volunteers are at present searching through the rubble and debris in case anyone is trapped in their house or place of work while a large number of residents from neighbouring buildings have been evacuated.
“Two bodies and a number of wounded were transferred to Al-Maqasid Hospital as a result of the explosion of the diesel tank that caught fire this evening”, Mr. Kittana said.
