VIRAL VIDEO: VeryDarkMan Slams Ooni Of Ife Over His Alleged Chat With King Mitchy
Nigerian activist VeryDarkMan has criticised the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, over his alleged WhatsApp exchange with socialite King Mitchy.
The controversy follows an ongoing dispute between VeryDarkMan and King Mitchy.
The disagreement started after Mitchy challenged him over school renovation projects.
She claimed she renovated a school within six days and dared him to give her ₦50 million to fix four schools.
As the argument continued online, Mitchy alleged that the activist questioned the source of her funds for opening her store and made inappropriate comments about her behaviour.
The dispute reportedly led to her losing access to her business page.
To support her claims about her influence and connections, Mitchy shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation with the Ooni.
In the chat, the monarch praised her efforts on social media and encouraged her to continue her work. He also asked when they could speak further.
“See all the great things you’re doing on social media. Keep up the good work indeed! Kindly advise when we can talk,” the Ooni said in the chat.
Reacting to the screenshot, VeryDarkMan said he found the situation surprising.
He stated that he would normally bow to greet the Ooni out of respect, yet the monarch appeared to be bowing to Mitchy in the conversation.
VeryDarkMan expressed disappointment, saying he felt the socialite did not show proper respect to the traditional ruler.
He also compared the situation to the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, suggesting that such an exchange would not happen in that case.
“If I see the Ooni of Ife, I will bow down to greet him, whereas he is bowing down to Mitchy on WhatsApp. A whole Ooni of Ife, I am disappointed.
“She even referred to him as ‘even this king had to find my contact’. No wonder she can never regard me. A whole first-class king in the history of Nigeria.
“Shout out to The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, may your reign be great,” he said.
The exchange has continued to generate reactions online, with supporters of both sides sharing their views.
